We are proud to introduce our newest community-minded endeavor, Little Rays of Sunshine. Our goal is to spread rays of sunshine around the community and beyond. This is achieved by gift bags containing an uplifting message and a small handmade item. The giver can add additional gifts tailor-made to the recipient.
These rays of sunshine are tokens of love, hugs and inspiration for people who may be going through a difficult time: illness, loss of loved one, or they just need something to brighten their day and let them know they are loved.
While it looks like a simple thing to do, it is the compassion put into it that will mean the world to the recipient. One of our members has been putting these together for a few people in and around the community, and the response has always been, “This is just what I needed.”
How it Works:
We will have a table set up for the Little Rays of Sunshine at our events. At this table visitors of ALL ages will be able to do the following:
- 🌞 Decorate a gift bag with provided art supplies, stickers, etc.
- 🌞 Choose one or two of the small crafts available to make
- 🌞 Place items inside of the gift bag
From this point, each person has the following choices:
- 🌞 Take the gift bag and add more items with a specific person in mind to RECEIVE this gift
- 🌞 Leave the gift bag with the Women for High Bridge so that we have them on hand to give to others who may be in need of some rays of sunshine.
This endeavor is a way to bring community members together, to encourage one another, and touch someone’s life in a positive, uplifting way. The rewards are beneficial to ALL who take part.
